On this occasion, Filip conveyed congratulations to all citizens of Moldova, noting that the freedom and independence were the most important values of humanity. “It is true that we remarked ups and downs in this period, and I hope very much that during 25 years the political establishment and governors have learned many lessons and I am sure that from now on, Moldova will follow the correct path towards development, the good and welfare of its citizens,” Filip said.

The official programme was held in the Great National Assembly Square, in presence of Moldovan leadership, representatives of state institutions, diplomatic staff and guests from abroad. The ceremony was followed by a military parade and many cultural events.

Independence Day is marked concomitantly in all Moldovan settlements, and in Chisinau, the events are carried out during the day.
