"EBRD will continue to invest in major projects designed to increase the living standards of the citizens of Moldova." The statement was made during a meeting of Moldovan Prime Minister, Ion Chicu, with the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Sum Chakrabarti.

In this context, Prime Minister thanked for the invitation to participate in the first Investment Summit of the EaP States and expressed the interest for continuous development of strategic partnership with EBRD.

"We count on continuous support of EBRD, as one of the main development partners of Moldova, for implementation of projects aimed at raising the living standards in Moldova, by implementing them in various fields, such as energy security, private sector development and banking system, but also implementation of electronic public procurement system”, said Ion Chicu.

Also, the prime minister proposed to initiate negotiations for signing of a new financing agreement for continuation of implementation of the Programme in the road sector, starting 2022. Similarly, Ion Chicu mentioned that Moldova would appreciate the support for technical assistance in the implementation of the restructuring process of company Calea Ferata din Moldova.
