Moldovan government approved program to support Roma population
Provisions to ensure the participation in the social and political life of Roma people can be found in an extensive Program for the support of the Roma population in the Republic of Moldova for 2022-2025, approved today during the Government meeting.
The document provides a set of measures to facilitate the employment of Roma in the labor field, including in the public service, as well as the initiation of professional training programs and the development of the entrepreneurial spirit of the Roma population. The Program also guarantees access to education, health and other public services without discrimination based on social equity criteria, as well as measures to stimulate the active participation of Roma in the public and social life of the country. The status of the community mediator is also to be strengthened, so that he can better exercise his function of informing, coordinating, communicating, encouraging, guiding and supporting the Roma population.
"Improving the social and economic situation and increasing the quality of life of all citizens of the Republic of Moldova is the main concern of the Government of the Republic of Moldova. The promotion of an inclusive civic identity and a tolerant society, policies in the field of human rights, respect for multi-ethnic diversity must unite us all, regardless of ethnicity, in the "common house" - the Republic of Moldova", Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topala said.
