Every year, on 3 December, together with the entire world community, we mark the Day of People with Disabilities. This date is of great educational social importance - it is an additional occasion to realize that we can and must be better and more careful.

We as a society have been through complicated periods of state formation. Probably for this reason many important decisions we make late.

Disability is not a physical condition. Disability is a difference that prevents full and efficient participation of the person in social life under equal conditions. But the barriers can be reduced and we can ensure a wider participation of people with disabilities in social life - we just have to open our hearts wider.

The government is determined to be involved in reducing the barriers faced by disabled people in using their potential. The transformation of disability into ability, by ensuring access to the physical, social, economic and cultural environment, to the systems of health protection and education, to information and communication, will contribute in the long term to the general well-being, to the social and economic development of the country.

Given the principle of equal and inalienable rights of all citizens of Moldova, the government will continue to promote policies to equalize the chances of achieving the economic, social, civil, cultural and political rights of each member of the society.

The events organized these days give us the opportunity to know new examples of perseverance, dignity and insistence on achieving aspirations.

The protagonists of the photo exhibition, launched today in the premises of the government, through their attitude, manage to inspire and are actively involved in national and international projects, which promote social inclusion.
