On a visit to Berlin, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița accompanied by Interior Minister Ana Revenco had a meeting with Nancy Faeser, Federal Minister of Internal Affairs.

The discussion focused on regional situation generated by the war in Ukraine and the consequences for Moldova, given that the country has the highest rate of Ukrainian refugees in terms of population. Today, there are still about 96,000 Ukrainian refugees in the Republic of Moldova, while over 390,000 Ukrainians have passed through the country since the start of the war.

The officials noted that regional security was severely affected, and in order to end the aggression against civilians in Ukraine, it was necessary to end the unjustified war by calling for dialogue and peaceful negotiations between the parties. At the same time, full support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity was expressed.

The talks also focused on the actions that need to be taken to increase the resilience of the Republic of Moldova in cyber security and misinformation.

In the context of the humanitarian crisis in the region, they discussed ways to cooperate between Moldova and Germany on strengthening the institutional capacity of law enforcement agencies. "We need to strengthen the functionality of the Ministry of Interior in order to ensure public order and combat fraudulent crossings on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. In this regard, we welcome the signing of the agreement between Moldova and the European Union on cooperation in border management between the Moldovan border guards, the European Border Police Agency and the Coast Guard (Frontex) ", said Natalia Gavrilița.
