Activity conditions of the regional telephone operator were presented by Chisinau at the meeting of the Working Group on Telecommunications and Postal Services
The Working Group on Telecommunications and Postal Services convened today to discuss the Berlin Plus Package topics related to telephone interconnection of citizens on both banks of the Nistru river.
Chisinau addressed the issues related to implementation of the Protocol Decision "On organizing the interaction in the field of telecommunications" of 25 November, 2017; conditions and premises for issuing the license; development prospects of the regional operator; compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Moldova by the regional operator, in particular with the legal framework on interconnection; obtaining and keeping the license; protection of personal data, notification of the National Center for Personal Data Protection; and compliance with legal documents.
During two and a half years, the Working Group met on the OSCE platform for about 40 times. Chisinau has demonstrated a constructive, pragmatic and legislation-based approach, as well as a strategic vision for developing and diversifying services offered to citizens. Therewith, the Transnistrian side did not show flexibility and was reluctant towards the proposed regulatory, technical and development framework.
Chisinau would like to interconnect both banks of Nistru based on legal conditions and to protect the rights of its citizens in a transparent and competitive manner with other operators as part of the final process of country‘s reintegration.
