Assistance projects for the benefit of residents on both banks of the Nistru River discussed at the meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and UNDP Resident Representative in the Republic of Moldova Daniela Gasparikova
On 10 August 2026, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri held a working meeting with Daniela Gasparikova, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in the Republic of Moldova.
The meeting addressed assistance programmes and projects implemented by UNDP in support of communities on both banks of the Nistru, with a focus on confidence-building, promoting sustainable development, enhancing energy resilience, as well as other areas of relevance.
In this context, the need was emphasized for assistance projects and development initiatives to contribute to the efforts of the national authorities in addressing specific challenges faced by residents of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, ensuring the functioning of the Romanian-language schools, as well as respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms in the region.
Deputy Prime Minister expressed appreciation for UNDP’s contribution to the implementation of numerous external assistance projects, once again underscoring the importance of its support in effectively advancing sectoral policies aimed at the reintegration of the country.
