The Bureau for Reintegration took note of the incident regarding the policeman who was allegedly seized by the unrecognized Transnistrian structures
The Bureau for Reintegration took note of the abduction of an officer from the Floresti Police Inspectorate by the unrecognized force structures from the Transnistrian region.
The representatives of the Bureau and the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) work with law enforcement and other authorities to reveal all the circumstances on the case and to make use of the channels available for the Officer’s release.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, requested for explanations on this case from the Transnistrian side, stressing the inadmissibility of such actions. "Such actions are inadmissible, illegal and violate the fundamental human rights, this being a constant challenge lately", said Cristina Lesnic.
At the same time, the subject was brought to the attention of the 5+2 mediators, the CoE Office and the UN Representation in the Republic of Moldova and will be addressed by the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the Joint Control Commission in this week's meeting.
According to the operative information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has mobilized the available forces to establish all the case circumstances and undertake all measures as to identify the location of the police officer and release him. Additionally, the Prosecutor's Office from Floresti initiated a criminal case based on Art.164, par.2: “Abduction of a person” and Art.351, par.2: “Usurpation of officials” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Moldova.
We would like to remind that today, around 09:30, the management of the Floresti Police Inspectorate was notified by the wife of the policeman domiciled in Camenca, that her husband had been abducted by unknown persons, with hoods on their faces and clothes with the "КГБ" inscription.
The Bureau will work with the competent authorities to make every possible effort on this case.
