Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian Held a Farewell Meeting with the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, Kelly Keiderling

On July 16, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian held a farewell meeting with Ambassador Kelly Keiderling, Head of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Mission to the Republic of Moldova, who is concluding her mandate.

During the discussions, the evolution of the negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement over the past three years was reviewed, with particular emphasis placed on the active role of the OSCE Mission as a mediator in fostering dialogue between Chișinău and Tiraspol and in bringing both banks of the Nistru River closer together.

„Our greatest achievement during these three years of interaction has been maintaining peace on both banks of the Nistru River, avoiding deepening social and economic crises, and preventing the escalation of tensions. Together, we managed to avoid new issues related to Romanian-language schools in the Transnistrian region, find solutions to recurring problems in the agricultural sector of the Dubăsari district, and secure the release of more detainees from unlawful detention in Tiraspol than ever before. All of this took place within a rather complex and not always favorable regional and international context,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian.

Also nearing the end of his own mandate, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration thanked Ambassador Kelly Keiderling for her constructive cooperation and dedication throughout her mission in our country, extending his best wishes for success in her future endeavors.
