Human Rights and the Rapprochement of the Two Banks of the Nistru Discussed on the Platform of the German Bundestag

The country’s reintegration process, measures aimed at bringing the inhabitants of both banks of the Nistru closer together, and efforts to restore a single economic, social, and legal space in the Republic of Moldova were the main topics of discussion held in Berlin between Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, Armin Laschet. 

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri presented Chișinău’s priorities in promoting reintegration policies, emphasizing the importance of respecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of the residents of the Transnistrian region, ensuring their access to public services, as well as to the opportunities guaranteed by national legislation. 

The cooperation and support of the Bundestag in promoting a peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict were also highly appreciated.
