Meeting between the Government State Secretary for Reintegration and a delegation from the Kingdom of Norway

On 11 August 2026 the Government State Secretary for Reintegration Roman Roșca met with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), which is on a fact-finding visit to the Republic of Moldova.

The meeting addressed the challenges faced by the population on the left bank of the Nistru River and in the municipality of Bender, including issues related to the operation of territorial subdivisions providing public services to citizens, as well as the situation regarding the operation of the ferry crossing in the Dubăsari district. Particular attention was paid to educational institutions located in the Transnistrian region, in particular the Theoretical Lyceum „Evrika” in Rîbnița and the Theoretical Lyceum „Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt” in Grigoriopol, in the context of ensuring access to education in the Romanian language.

The discussions also covered current developments in the eastern districts of the country, the human rights situation in the region, as well as the measures undertaken by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to advance consistent reintegration policies aimed at protecting the fundamental rights and freedoms of citizens and reducing the differences between the two banks of the Nistru. 

The State Secretary highlighted the continued support provided by the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Moldova, including through humanitarian assistance projects, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation and identifying new opportunities to provide assistance to residents on both banks of the Nistru.
