Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration Oleg Serebrian with the members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Austria – Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus from the Parliament of the Republic of Austria

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian met today with members of the Austria-Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Austrian Parliament: Helmut Brandstätter (New Austria Party and Liberal Forum), Harald Troch (Austrian Social Democratic Party) , Hubert Fuchs (Austrian Freedom Party), who conduct a documentation visit to the Republic of Moldova accompanied by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to the Republic of Moldova, Stella Avallone.

During the discussions, the situation of regional security in the context of risks and crises generated by the war in Ukraine was approached, as well as the management of processes by the Moldovan authorities in order to maintain an atmosphere of predictability, peace and socio-economic stabilization.

Separate attention was paid to the Transnistrian issue, the developments in the east of the country and the dynamics of dialogue in the formats of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement, elucidating measures conducted by Chisinau to manage pressing issues, provide needed assistance to the citizens, keeping the situation in the Security Zone and in the region within the boundaries of normality, ensuring a constructive dialogue in the existing interaction platforms with Tiraspol and relevant international actors.

The good relations of Moldovan-Austrian cooperation in various fields of mutual interest were praised and the openness of their development was evoked, with the implementation of new assistance projects for beneficiaries on both banks of the Nistru River, respecting bilateral commitments and their coordination with competent national authorities.
