Working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian to Brussels

On 18-20 June, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian made a working visit to Brussels. The programme of the visit included meetings with Mrs Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga, EU Special Representative in the Transnistrian settlement negotiations process, and Mrs Mara Steinberga, Foreign Policy Advisor in the Cabinet of the President of the European Commission.

On Wednesday, June 19, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian together with Mr. Stanislav Secrieru, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Moldova in the field of security and national defense, presented the political and security situation in the Republic of Moldova and the recent developments in the negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement within the framework of the work of the Political and Security Council of the EU. The Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Chișinău's determination to find a peaceful solution to the Transnistrian issue during his intervention in front of the permanent representatives of the EU member states. The positive role that the European integration process can have on the country's reintegration process was emphasized.

On the same day Oleg Serebrian and Stanislav Secrieru made a presentation about the current security situation in the Republic of Moldova at the European Policy Centre.
