Working Visit of Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri to the Căușeni District
On January 15, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri conducted a working visit to the Căușeni District, where he met with the mayors of settlements located within the perimeter of the Security Zone. Discussions focused on finding solutions to strengthen the capacity of local public administration bodies, improve the delivery of public services to citizens, including residents of the left bank of the Nistru River, and implement development projects and their impact on the broader regional development.
„We aspire to developed communities, equipped with modern infrastructure, that provide optimal conditions for education, healthcare, and economic activities. Each settlement should have functional and efficient facilities so that people can access quality services and real opportunities for development,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister during the dialogue with the mayors.
During the meeting with the Chairman of the Căușeni District, Alexandru Catan, the activity of the central public administration was acknowledged, as well as the measures taken to address requests from settlements located in the Security Zone. The interlocutors agreed on the need to coordinate efforts and maintain a constant dialogue to support the implementation of the district’s socio-economic development priorities.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister visited the village of Hagimus, where he reviewed the local kindergarten, the gardening cooperatives sector along the Tighina–Merenești route, and the water supply pumping station, assessing the needs for modernization and ensuring the effective operation of the existing infrastructure.
The working visit also included a visit to the settlement of Copanca, where the Deputy Prime Minister reviewed the Romanian-language gymnasium and inspected the electricity supply hub and the natural gas distribution point. Valeriu Chiveri emphasized the strategic importance of these facilities for ensuring stable and secure gas supply in the region.
It should be noted that between 2011 and 2025, settlements in the Căușeni District located within the Security Zone received support through projects financed under the Programmes of Activities for the Reintegration of the Country. A total of 79 projects were successfully implemented, amounting to 21.54 million lei.
