The Fulfillment of the State’s Positive Obligations to Protect Human Rights in the Transnistrian Region – Discussed at an International Conference

The Head of the Bureau for Reintegration Policies, Alin Gvidiani, participated in a discussion panel at the international conference “The System of the European Convention on Human Rights – Implementation of the European Court of Human Rights Judgments,” organized by the Ministry of Justice and the Department for the Execution of Judgments of the European Court of Human Rights of the Council of Europe.

The event brought together government officials and Council of Europe experts, representatives of national public authorities, judges, lawyers, and civil society representatives, engaging in a professional dialogue focused on the exchange of best practices.

The Head of the Bureau highlighted the most problematic aspects concerning the human rights situation in the eastern districts of the country, which are temporarily outside the effective control of constitutional authorities. He outlined the efforts of the Bureau and national institutions to assist and protect victims of abuses in the region, and emphasized that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova will continue to take all possible measures to safeguard the fundamental rights and freedoms of their citizens.
