Possibilities for expanding Latvian investments in Moldova discussed at government
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu today had a meeting with Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Edgars Bondars and representatives of the Latvian IT company, Tet, in order to discuss the implementation of new joint projects in the field of information technologies and cybersecurity.
PM Alexandru Munteanu emphasized that the expansion of foreign investments in Moldova was supported by the government and that cyber resilience was a priority area in the current regional context. In this regard, parties discussed the possibility of developing new joint projects with the Latvian side, in the fields of information technologies, cybersecurity and innovative energy solutions.
The sides highlighted the need to strengthen the cybersecurity infrastructure of Moldova, following the model of European states. At the same time, in the process of the country’s accession to the European Union, Latvia’s experience in digital integration and European regulatory alignment is particularly relevant.
"We want you to enhance your presence in Moldova. We are expecting Latvian investments in other areas as well, including more active cooperation in the field of personnel training, exchange of good practices and transfer of expertise," the prime minister added.
