Moldovan PM meets U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State
The government’s priorities, regional security and the deepening of Moldovan–American cooperation have been the main topics discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States Christopher Smith, on a working visit to Moldova.
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the United States for the construction project of the 400 kV Straseni–Gutinas overhead power line, which will enhance the energy security of Moldova.
For his part, the U.S. official commended the progress made by the Moldovan authorities in implementing reforms that improve living conditions for citizens and emphasized the United States’ openness to expanding exports of Moldovan products to the U.S. market.
The interlocutors also discussed the reconstruction of Ukraine and the contribution of Moldova, which is prepared to become a logistic and economic corridor.
