In 2023, the Government provided 1043 people residing in the Transnistrian region with compensated medicines and medical devices
In 2023 the Government provided multidimensional support in the field of health protection for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in the localities of the Transnistrian region.
Thus, 22.988 people are registered with the general practitioners from medical institutions providing primary healthcare services within the mandatory health insurance, according to data valid for November 30, 2023. They are citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in the Transnistrian region.
Moreover, according to the data reported by the providers of pharmaceutical services in the information system „Compensated Medicines”, compared to the data registered with family doctors, it is found that during 2023 1043 people from the Transnistrian region benefited from the medicines and medical devices compensated from FAOAM. These products amounted to 973.616,44 lei, of which the largest shares comprise the compensated amounts for medicines prescribed for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases – 528.239,51 lei (54,25 %) and medicines and medical devices prescribed for the treatment of diabetes –154.529,75 lei (15,87 %).
In addition, 3,500 doses of inactivated polio vaccine which the Republic of Moldova receives as a donation from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) were distributed.
At the same time, during 2023, 5575 people residing in the Transnistrian region received treatment in hospitals contracted by the National Health Insurance Company, while 160 patients were hospitalized in the Emergency Medicine Institute (101 from Dubăsari district, 43 from the Bender municipality, 10 from Râbnița district, 6 from the municipality of Tiraspol).
The AVIASAN Republican Service conducted 15 phone consultations to coordinate treatment and 31 trips for the transfer of patients in serious condition caused by severe complications at the request of medical staff from the Transnistrian region.
These data reveal concrete healthcare activities provided to the inhabitants of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova in the context of honoring the state’s positive obligations towards its citizens.
