Bilateral meetings with Lithuanian officials during the working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration to Vilnius
During his working visit to Vilnius, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri held new bilateral meetings with officials of the Republic of Lithuania, during which issues related to strengthening political dialogue and deepening cooperation between the two states were discussed.
The discussions with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, focused on the developments in the process of settling the Transnistrian conflict, with an emphasis on the need to achieve a peaceful and sustainable solution, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders.
The sides also discussed the progress achieved by the Republic of Moldova in the process of accession to the European Union, appreciating Lithuania’s consistent support for advancing the country’s European path and implementing the reforms required within this process.
The meeting’s agenda also included issues related to the further development of cooperation between the two states. The high level of Moldovan-Lithuanian relations was highlighted, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in areas such as security, strengthening institutional capacities, Lithuania’s experience in the European integration process, as well as in other areas of mutual interest.
At the end of the meeting, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining an active political dialogue and making effective use of the potential of bilateral cooperation.
