The Chargée d'affaires of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland and the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration offered a batch of donation to the Romanian language lyceums from Râbnița and Grigoriopol
On April 4, the Chargée d'affaires of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland, together with the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration Oleg Serebrian have conducted a working visit to the „Evrika” Theoretical Lyceum from Râbnița and to the “Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt” Theoretical Lyceum from Grigoriopol, temporarily located in Doroțcaia, Dubăsari district, where 395 pupils study.
On the occasion of the visit, the Chargée d'affaires transmitted to both educational institutions, as a donation, a set of state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards and educational materials designed to help improve the study of English and strengthen the technical-material and didactic base of institutions, for which Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian and the lyceums’ administration expressed cordial gratitude.
The visit also served as a good opportunity for the officials to get acquainted with the activity of the two schools, the difficulties they face, but also with the successes marked by the students, many of whom are young Olympiad participants.
It was found that the lack of own premises and inappropriate infrastructure affect the study process and educational activity in the context in which the Lyceum in Râbnița rents the building of a kindergarten and does not have access to its own premises, the construction of which was blocked since 2004. At the same time, the Lyceum in Grigoriopol has been evacuated for almost 20 years and functions in the second shift at the Theoretical High School from Doroțcaia, sharing the same building with teachers and students from the village of Doroțcaia in Dubasari district.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian assured that the Chisinau authorities will continue to take every effort to provide the necessary support to educational institutions, students and teachers, as well as to create a modern and safe educational environment.
