Comment by the Bureau for Reintegration Policies

In connection with the recent statement by the Independent Journalism Center of Moldova and other civil society organizations regarding outdoor advertising, we offer the following clarifications.

The Bureau for Reintegration Policies is not an institution authorized to provide legal interpretations of legislative provisions and, moreover, does not have the authority to interfere in the activities of parties involved in the placement of outdoor advertising.

The Bureau has always welcomed and encouraged local public authorities, including those within the Security Zone, to develop open and constructive engagement with the media and civil society organizations in order to ensure that citizens on both banks of the Nistru River have access to accurate information.

We consider it important to reject and counter manipulative/false messages, especially those that affect the functionality of the state and the constitutional values of the Republic of Moldova, and which are often promoted in the Transnistrian region or outside the country.

We encourage local authorities to cooperate with the press and civil society and act in the spirit of democratic values ​​and the promotion of reintegration policies of the Republic of Moldova.
