Comment on the release of Vladimir Dudnic

On August 15, 2024, the citizen of the Republic of Moldova Dudnic Vladimir, who was deprived of his liberty on April 4, 2022 by the transnistrian security structures, was released from illegal detention.

Throughout this period, the case of the citizen Dudnic Vl. was constantly in the attention of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration and the Bureau for Reintegration Policies, being addressed in the dialogue with external partners, as well as within the framework of interaction platforms at the level of political representatives and working groups on human rights.

In this regard, we highlight the active and focused cooperation on the defense of human rights on this resonant case with the Ombudsman's Office Representative in Varnița, the OSCE Mission to Moldova and international partners who made a significant contribution to achieving a positive result.

We reiterate that the protection of fundamental human rights and freedoms remains an absolute priority for Chișinău in dialogue with foreign partners and in interaction formats on the Transnistrian settlement.

At the same time, we once again call on Tiraspol to adequately respond to our appeals sent on other individual high-profile cases of illegal persecution and imprisonment of citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the region: Ermurachi M., Dimov Al., Menzarari S., Malîșev A., Pogorlețchii V. etc.
