The delegation of the Republic of Moldova brought to the attention of the Joint Control Commission the need to ensure public order and free movement on the day of the Presidential Elections and the Republican Constitutional Referendum

On October 10, 2024, a meeting of the Joint Control Commission was held in Bender.
The report presented by the Joint Military Command for the period 02-08 October 2024 confirms the presence of illegal posts of Transnistrian structures in the Security Zone.
Referring to the elections for the position of President of the Republic of Moldova and the Republican Constitutional Referendum of October 20, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova communicated that the actions to ensure public order in the localities where polling stations will be opened will involve the territorial subdivisions of the General Police Inspectorate, located in the Security Zone.
In this context, the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova appealed to all participants of the Joint Control Commission and to the Joint Military Command of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces to prevent situations in the Security Zone that impede the proper conduct of elections, including cases of blocking the freedom of movement of citizens or electoral officials.
