The delegation of the Republic of Moldova has submitted its nominations for the Press Center of the Joint Control Commission

On June 26, 2025, a meeting of the Joint Control Commission was held in Bender.

The topic addressed concerned the organization of the Commission’s Press Center, which is intended to contribute to the dissemination of objective information regarding the situation in the Security Zone and the functioning of the peacekeeping mechanisms on the Nistru River.

Recently, Tiraspol has engaged in non-transparent practices and a selective approach concerning the accreditation process of journalists to the Joint Control Commission, and has also abusively restricted access for several media representatives to the Transnistrian region.

In order to eliminate violations within this important communication structure of the Joint Control Commission and to restore its functionality in line with the purpose stated in the Agreement signed on July 21, 1992, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova submitted its nominations to be included in the composition of the Press Center.

During the meeting, the Commission members did not reach a decision on Chișinău’s proposal, and discussions are expected to continue at the next working sessions.
