The delegation of the Republic of Moldova keeps the need to eliminate illegal posts from the Security Zone under the attention of the Joint Control Commission

The issue of posts illegally installed by Tiraspol within the perimeter of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces was examined at the weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission held on April 18, 2024, in the city of Bender.

The delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated its position that the Joint Peacekeeping Forces do not require additional structures to ensure peace in the Security Zone, argued that the posts in question are abusively installed, and requested their removal. Representatives from Tiraspol in the Commission opposed making a decision on this matter.

Additionally, during the meeting, the Joint Control Commission listened to the report from the Unified Military Command regarding the situation in the Security Zone for the period April 10-16.

Izabella Hartmann, representing the OSCE Mission in Moldova, was present and will participate in the proceedings of the Joint Control Commission.
