Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian in dialogue with the Ambassador at large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, H.E. Paun Rohovei

On Monday, June 17 this year, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a working meeting with the Ambassador at large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, H.E. Paun Rohovei, accompanied by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Marko Shevchenko.
The officials reviewed the current dynamics of the Chișinău-Tiraspol dialogue, exchanged views on further actions to be coordinated and highlighted the need to boost reintegration policies in light of the opportunities offered by the status of candidate countries for accession to the European Union.
The joint commitment to strengthen the dialogue and coordination on issues related to the Transnistrian file was emphasized in order to maintain an atmosphere of security, to solve the most urgent problems of the inhabitants on both banks of the Nistru River and to generate a favorable ground for achieving the strategic goal of reintegration of the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration reiterated Chișinău's readiness to convene a new meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian Joint Intergovernmental Commission in the field of economic and trade cooperation in the second half of 2024.
The Ambassador at large of Ukraine reconfirmed his strong commitment to achieving a final settlement of the Transnistrian conflict within the internationally recognized borders of the country, and also thanked for the constant support provided to Ukraine by the authorities of Chișinău, emphasizing the recent signing by the President of the Republic of Moldova of the final declaration of the Peace Summit on Ukraine, which was held in Switzerland.
