Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian had a meeting with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Thomas Mayr-Harting

On Wednesday, 5 June 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a working meeting with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, accompanied by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador Kelly Keiderling.
The discussions focused on the current situation of the dialogue between Chișinău and Tiraspol, the developments registered in the main files of the negotiation process, the Governmental priorities in the field of the country's reintegration policies, as well as the timetable of the reintegration process for the next period.
The commitment of the national authorities to contribute to solving the issues on the agenda was reiterated, such issues being the external commercial activity of economic agents in the Transnistrian region and the authorization of imports of certain categories of goods, including medicines and radiological equipment, by applying the requirements and rigors of the legislation in force of the Republic of Moldova and the objective of restoring the single economic space between both banks of the Nistru River.
Referring to the idea of a possible meeting of the chief negotiators from Chișinău and Tiraspol in Valletta, under the auspices of the Maltese Chairmanship of the OSCE, Oleg Serebrian said that this can take place only if Tiraspol accepts a concrete work agenda and a tangible goal to result from this meeting.
The Deputy Prime Minister appreciated positively the OSCE's role in the liberation of the citizen Victor Pleşcanov, emphasizing the need to keep the issue of respect for human rights in the region on the agenda of the dialogue with Tiraspol.
