Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian met with the Special Representative of the European Union in the Negotiation Process on the Transnistrian Settlement, Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga

On 18 November 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian held a working meeting the Special Representative of the European Union (EU) in the Negotiation Process on the Transnistrian Settlement, Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga.
During the discussions, the main topics of the Transnistrian settlement agenda were touched upon, as well as the priorities in the field of reintegration of the country, with an emphasis on the efforts of the Republic of Moldova in the process of European integration, including the upcoming measures to ensure the readiness of the eastern districts for the accession of the entire country to the EU.
The officials agreed to hold meaningful consultations between Chișinău and Brussels to identify the best options for assistance from the European Union to meet the needs of the Republic of Moldova in solving current problems in the interests of the residents of both banks of the Nistru River. In this regard, the support provided by the EU to the constitutional authorities was noted in order to consolidate joint efforts aimed at achieving the strategic goal of reintegration of the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian noted that the positive dynamics of relations between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union in the new realities of our country's status as a candidate state for accession will contribute to the irreversible involvement of the Transnistrian region in the processes of European integration. To achieve this goal, Chișinău will continue close cooperation with the EU institutions, which will follow their commitment to fully support our country on its European path.
