The Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian participated in the commemoration ceremony of the heroes fallen on the Coșnița Plateau in the armed conflict on the Nistru river
The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration participated on Tuesday, March 14, in the commemoration ceremony of those who fell in the battles of the spring of 1992 for the defense of the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova on the Coșnița Plateau. The event took place in front of the Monument to fallen heroes "For the Country, for the Nation", with the participation of representatives of the Parliament, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Defense, the district and local public administration, the Dubăsari Police Inspectorate and the delegation of the Republic of Moldova in Joint Control Commission, of war veterans and the locals.
In his speech, Oleg Serebrian said that the Republic of Moldova did not lose the war on the Nistru River, even if the forces were unequal. Thanks to the temerity of those who defended the sovereignty of our country in those days, it was possible to keep the Republic of Moldova on the road leading to democracy and freedom. The war on the Nistru river slowed our development, but it could not stop us. At the same time, the deputy prime minister said that the authorities in Chișinău are doing everything possible so that the shadow of war no longer hovers over the Republic of Moldova.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Oleg Serebrian thanked the veterans of the military conflict on the Nistru River for the devotion they served their country with, for the sacrifice they made for our present and future.
After the completion of the commemorative event, the Deputy Prime Minister had a meeting with the representatives of the local public administration in the Dubăsari district, reviewing the current situation in the district and the problems faced by the residents of the region, including war veterans and the families of those who fell on the line of duty.
