Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration in Dialogue with the European Union Representative in the Transnistrian Settlement Process

On April 7, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a meeting with Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga, European Union Representative in the Transnistrian settlement process, accompanied by the Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, Jānis Mažeiks.

Among the topics addressed during the meeting were the current situation of the negotiation formats on the Transnistrian settlement, a number of relevant issues on the agenda of the dialogue, including respect for human rights on the left bank of the Nistru River, the elimination of obstacles that impede free movement, the need to refrain from imposing illegal payments on farmers in the Dubăsari district, ensuring adequate conditions for the functioning of schools with Romanian-language teaching.

The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration emphasized Chișinău's efforts to maintain both dialogue in existing negotiation formats and stability in the country and the region by managing emerging energy, economic and regional security crises in the Republic of Moldova, formulating and implementing solutions to the problems faced by residents of both banks of the Nistru River.

The efforts made by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to advance in promoting the country's reintegration policies have been emphasized.

The openness of the national authorities to the continuation and development of a dynamic and productive dialogue with Brussels on the Transnistrian settlement and reintegration of the country was expressed.
