Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration met the Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine
On March 1, the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a meeting with the Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM), Mr. Slawomir Pichor.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian informed on the current situation in the negotiation process regarding the Transnistrian settlement and highlighted the current government priorities in the field of the country reintegration policies, mentioning that coherent policies will be promoted in order to restore the single national spaces (customs, fiscal, economic, educational etc.) and the implementation of actions towards protecting the fundamental human rights and freedoms in the Transnistrian perimeter.
Gratitude was expressed for the advisory and informative support provided by the EUBAM Mission on issues related to the Transnistrian issue, including by providing periodic activity reports and thematic analyses, stating interest in having technical visions, from the perspective of the European Union, on issues regarding the steps that can be taken for the full reintegration into the single economic-commercial space of the activity of the business environment in the Transnistrian region.
Arising from the need to strengthen institutional capacities, a particular interest was expressed toward involving the officials of the Reintegration Policies Bureau in relevant professional training courses and in activities to exchange positive experiences with relevant institutions from the member states of the European Union.
