Discussions of Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian with representatives of local authorities of Pelinia and Sofia

On September 19, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian paid a working visit to the villages of Pelinia and Sofia in the Drochia district.
During the meetings with local authorities, various topics important for the district's settlements were touched upon. Thus, the agenda of the discussions included: the advantages of state programs and cross-border projects, the European course of our country and the possibilities for the development of settlements.
In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister outlined national programs aimed at improving welfare and social cohesion. Oleg Serebrian also called on local authorities to identify new ways to attract investments to create optimal living conditions and continuous development, noting the funds of the „Satul European” Program, the national project „Rețeaua Școlilor Model” and other funding in the field of cultural heritage.
The mayors, for their part, addressed other problems, such as lack of aqueduct and sewerage systems, thermal insulation of educational institutions, unsatisfactory condition of roads, salaries in the public sector, etc.
In total, the Government invested over 26 million lei in the implementation of 20 projects within the framework of the „Satul European” and „Satul European Expres” programs, within which water supply and sewerage networks were built, street lighting networks were expanded, conditions in educational institutions were improved, sports grounds were equipped and access roads were repaired.
