The first meeting in the current year of the working groups on car transport and infrastructure development

On February 27, 2024, the first meeting in the current year of the working groups on car transport and infrastructure development was held, with the participation of experts from the both banks of the Nistru River.

Current topics in the field were addressed at the meeting, especially those related to the functioning of the vehicle registration points in the cities of Tiraspol and Râbnița, stating that a draft law that will ensure the continuity of the documentation mechanism with neutral license plates is being elaborated. This will also stimulate the legalization of the registration process of all transportation means owned by the citizens domiciled in the Transnistrian region.

An appeal to Tiraspol was made to give up the abusive imposition of road traffic participants with the domicile on the right side of the Nistru River to acquire unauthorized policies in the region, in the context of holding civil liability insurance policies for vehicles issued according to the requirements of the national legislation in force.

In addition, the experts from Chișinău outlined the need to comply with prohibitory and restrictive road signs installed on the road bridge near the city of Dubăsari, including the maximum permissible weight of vehicles to maintain the durability of the strength elements, as well as to facilitate the necessary repair work on the Rezina-Rîbnița and Rascăieți bridges.

The experts from Chișinău also reiterated the need to refrain from unilateral and discriminatory actions towards the owners of transportation means with national registration numbers, including unjustified stops of vehicles and the collection of illegal payments.
