The mandate of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine was discussed at the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration

On Tuesday, 10 December 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a working meeting with Slawomir Pichor, Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM).

The discussions included issues related to the mandate of EUBAM, which expires on 30 November 2025, and is expected to be extended until November 2028, following consultations and opinions received from the relevant institutions from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

Potential useful activities of the Mission aimed at producing a positive impact in promoting the country's reintegration policies were mentioned, including the organisation of thematic seminars on European Union (EU) good practices and the provision of EU sectoral experts on various technical issues (customs, taxation, trade, border management, etc.).
