The meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration and the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the Republic of Moldova, residing in Kyiv, His Excellency Félix Baumann

On April 8th, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, met with the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to Chișinău, with residence in Kyiv, His Excellency Félix Baumann, accompanied by Guido Beltrani, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in the Republic of Moldova.

During the meeting, the current state of the Transnistrian settlement process was discussed, reviewing the efforts made to fully reintegrate the eastern districts of the country into the unified constitutional field, aiming to eliminate existing disparities between both banks of the Nistru River and strengthen the statehood of the Republic of Moldova.

Additionally, aspects of regional security, management of current challenges in the economic and energy spheres, and potential response mechanisms to eventual crisis situations were addressed.

It was highlighted that the advancement of the Republic of Moldova's accession process to the European Union brings multiple advantages for the country's reintegration file, considering the various socio-economic and humanitarian opportunities and incentives offered.

The Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the continuous support provided to our country by the Swiss authorities, including the promotion of assistance and development programs, which also contribute to supporting the Transnistrian settlement process.
