Meeting between Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Espen Barth Eide

On 14 May 2026, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Espen Barth Eide.

The discussions focused on current developments in the Transnistrian region, as well as on Chișinău’s efforts and priorities in promoting reintegration policies.

 It was emphasized that the authorities of the Republic of Moldova are consistently acting to protect the fundamental rights of residents in the Transnistrian region, ensure access to quality public services, and strengthen unified national spaces in all areas: social, economic, educational, and others.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the importance of support provided by international partners, in particular in the joint implementation of activities beneficial for people on both banks of the Nistru River, and reaffirmed openness to developing mutually beneficial cooperation. In this context, appreciation was expressed for the constant assistance provided by the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Moldova, including for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
