The meeting of the co-chairs of the mixed Moldovan-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission in the fields of economic and commercial collaboration took place in Odessa
On Friday, September 29, 2023, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, co-chairperson of the Moldovan-Ukrainian Joint Intergovernmental Commission in the field of economic and trade cooperation, Oleg Serebrian met with his Ukrainian counterpart, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, the co-chairperson of the commission from Ukraine, Iryna Vereshchuk. The meeting took place in Odesa, the heads of the two delegations being accompanied by decision-makers from several prominent institutions in the two countries.
During the meeting, topics related to bilateral cooperation in the energy field, gas delivery, inclusion in the European land and railway infrastructure system were discussed. Likewise, an agreement was reached on intensifying and deepening partnerships between the customs services and the border police, which will allow to increase the flow of goods at the crossing points between the two countries, as well as to increase the quality of services provided to citizens crossing the border. In the presence of the co-chairs, a bilateral agreement in the field of phytosanitary control was signed between the National Agency for Food Safety of the Republic of Moldova and the counterpart institution in Ukraine.
Concluding the meeting, the sides agreed on convening in Chisinau the next meeting of the Moldovan-Ukrainian Joint Intergovernmental Commission in the field of economic and commercial collaboration in the second half of 2024.
