Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian with the Chairman of the Defence Committee of the Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden

On 3 June 2025, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, held a meeting with Peter Hultqvist, Chairman of the Defence Committee of the Riksdag (Parliament) of the Kingdom of Sweden. The discussions focused on the current dynamics of the reintegration process and the situation in the Transnistrian region, in the context of the government’s efforts to ensure a coordinated, peaceful, and sustainable basis for conflict resolution.

The two officials exchanged views on the regional security environment, marked by the consequences of the Russian Federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine, and its impact on the security and resilience of the Republic of Moldova. The importance of strengthening national capacities and reinforcing state institutions in this complex context was emphasized.

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Sweden for its consistent support to the Republic of Moldova, including projects dedicated to the citizens of our country, implemented in the Security Zone and the Transnistrian region, which contribute to maintaining a favorable climate for dialogue and social cohesion.
