Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian with H.E. Marko Shevchenko, Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
On June 24, 2025, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, held a meeting with the Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, H.E. Marko Shevchenko, Kiev’s representative in the Transnistrian settlement process, accompanied by the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Paun Rohovei.
The officials conducted a comprehensive exchange of views on the current state of the Transnistrian file, reviewing recent developments in the region over the past months, as well as the prospects for advancing reintegration policies in light of the new opportunities created by the EU candidate status of both the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
The willingness to strengthen Moldovan-Ukrainian bilateral dialogue and coordination on issues related to the Transnistrian settlement was reiterated, with the aim of maintaining a positive security climate, more effectively addressing the needs of residents on both banks of the Nistru River, and creating suitable preconditions for the achievement of the strategic goal of the country’s reintegration.
Ambassador Shevchenko reaffirmed his country’s strong support for a final peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, within the internationally recognized borders of the Republic of Moldova
