The meeting of deputy prime minister Oleg Serebrian with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Espen Barth Eide

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a working meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway, Espen Barth Eide, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Republic of Moldova, based in Bucharest, Ms. Siri Barry.

The agenda of the discussions included the Transnistrian settlement, the regional security context, and the efforts made by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to promote effective reintegration policies for the country, to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and productive dialogue, in the interests of residents across the entire country.

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian highlighted the marked progress in the social and economic reintegration of both banks of the Nistru River, in the context of extensive documentation of citizens and companies in the region with national model documents, and access to high-quality public services provided by the competent authorities of the Republic of Moldova.

The necessity to create the necessary preconditions for achieving a definitive political settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, strengthening the unitary state of the Republic of Moldova, and promoting the prompt advancement of multisectoral reintegration processes, with impulses received in this regard from the evolution of the European integration process was mentioned.

On this occasion, the Norwegian Foreign Minister reiterated the previous invitation to Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian to participate as a speaker at the Oslo Forum themed "Mediation against all odds?" (June 11-12, 2024), which was accepted by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration.
