Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian with the Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Special Representative on South East Europe Kyriakos Hadjiyianni

On 12 December 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian held a working meeting with the Vice-President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and Special Representative for South-Eastern Europe Kyriakos Hadjiyanni, accompanied by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador Kelly Keiderling.

The officials reviewed the current state of the dialogue between Chișinău and Tiraspol, the most urgent topics on both banks of the Nistru River, as well as the measures taken by the Moldovan authorities to solve the existing problems. 

The OSCE's role in the Transnistrian settlement process and facilitating interaction between both banks was positively appreciated, but also mentioned the need to maintain the alarming situation of human rights in the Transnistrian region in a permanent focus, in the context of multiple cases of persecution of citizens for simply expressing their opinion or submitting complaints to the constitutional authorities.
