Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian with the Ambassador of Canada to Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova

On September 18, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian held a working meeting with the Ambassador of Canada to Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova H.E. Gavin Buchan.

The discussions focused on the current situation in the negotiation process for the Transnistrian settlement, the dynamics of interaction in the existing negotiation formats, current issues and policies promoted by Chișinău. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized Chișinău's firm determination to continue the process of conflict resolution exclusively by peaceful means, by strengthening the statehood and security of the Republic of Moldova.

Maintaining an atmosphere of security and constructive dialogue, preserving communication channels and solving current problems in the legitimate interest of the inhabitants from both banks of the Nistru River were mentioned as primordial lines of action.

At the end of the discussions, Deputy Prime Minister Serebrian expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by Canada to the Republic of Moldova and the determination to contribute to achieving the strategic goal of settling the Transnistrian conflict.
