The meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, with the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, Michael Roth

On Thursday, April 18, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian met with the chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the German Bundestag, Michael Roth, accompanied by H.E. Margret Uebber, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Moldova.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister provided information on the current state of interactions between Chișinău and Tiraspol, topical issues on the agenda, measures taken by Chișinău for legal and fair resolution of these issues, and primary areas of intervention in implementing the Government's policy for the country's reintegration.

The peaceful resolution and gradual reintegration of the eastern districts of the country were outlined as primary lines of action for Chișinău, with the pace dependent on several factors: regional security architecture, impulses from the European integration process, effectively promoted policies with necessary resources allocated (human, financial, political, etc.), and strong support from the international community.

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian highlighted that, based on some common elements of unresolved conflicts in the Black Sea basin, and the fact that Moldova, Ukraine, and Georgia have been granted candidate status for joining the European Union, there is a need to promote an interdependent perspective for resolving disputes on their territories and avoiding unwanted precedents that could affect similar cases.
