Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration with representatives of the United Nations Refugee Agency

On January 22, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian held talks with Francesca Bonelli, the country representative of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in the Republic of Moldova. The main element addressed during this meeting was the assistance provided to Ukrainian refugees from the Republic of Moldova affected by the Russian Federation’s aggression on Ukraine. 

During the dialogue, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the significant support provided by UNHCR to both Ukrainian refugees and their host families and communities. The need to strengthen coordination of actions and approaches in various aspects of common interest was emphasized.

Another point of discussion was dedicated to UNHCR programs in the field of refugee education, with a special focus on those who are part of the Romanian community.
