Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri with the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, Artjoms Uršuļskis

On 15 May 2026, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Valeriu Chiveri met with the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, Artjoms Uršuļskis, who was on a working visit to Chișinău.

The discussions focused on the current dynamics of the negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement, the priorities of the Government of the Republic of Moldova in promoting reintegration policies, as well as the impact of the regional security situation on the country.

Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Chiveri expressed appreciation for the consistent support provided by Latvia to the Republic of Moldova, emphasizing the importance of strengthening institutional and societal resilience, protecting fundamental human rights, and achieving a peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict in line with the principles of respect for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
