Meeting of the Government Secretary of State for Reintegration with a Group of Students and Young Professionals
On 21 October 2026, Ivan Țurcan, Government Secretary of State for Reintegration, met with a group of students and young professionals from various fields who visited the Bureau for Reintegration Policies as part of a study visit.
The discussions focused on the current situation in the Transnistrian settlement process, the country's reintegration priorities, and prospects for bringing the two banks of the Nistru River closer together in the context of the Republic of Moldova's European path. The positive role of the Republic of Moldova's European integration process in supporting the gradual reintegration of the Transnistrian region into unified national spaces (economic, social, educational, etc.) was highlighted, as well as its role in extending the benefits of both processes to the region's residents.
The discussion also focused on matters relating to human rights and freedom of movement. The importance of guaranteeing and ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all citizens of the Republic of Moldova was emphasised, including through access to public services and national protection mechanisms, regardless of their place of residence.
Ivan Țurcan noted the young people's interest in reintegration and highlighted the contribution that the new generation of specialists can make to promoting dialogue, strengthening trust between residents on both banks of the Nistru River, and advancing European values.
