Message on the Occasion of the International Day of Families

The International Day of Families offers us an opportunity to reaffirm the Republic of Moldova’s commitment to a united, peaceful and European society, in which every family, on both banks of the Nistru River, enjoys the same rights and the support of the state in their daily lives.
The process of reintegration concerns people and ensuring a decent, accessible, and safe life for all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of their place of residence. It also involves unhindered access to education, healthcare services, freedom of movement, and guarantees of safety for the entire family. There are no objective reasons to justify the maintenance of artificial and illegal barriers that divide, limit freedoms and affect the naturalness of life in a unitary state.
The Transnistrian conflict does not originate in ethnic, social or religious differences, but is artificially maintained. However, families have continued to represent a living and authentic link between people, proving that human closeness remains possible even in the context of the prolonged and unresolved transnistrian conflict.
We wish all families in the Republic of Moldova good health, peace, stability and confidence in a prosperous future, in a country fully reintegrated and firmly oriented towards European values.
