The discussions covered a wide range of topics related to the transnistrian region, including interaction in sectoral working groups, the challenging human rights situation, social and economic reintegration activities implemented by Chișinău, confidence-building measures, and maintaining a secure and sustainable development environment.
Attention was drawn to the urgent need to improve the very precarious human rights situation in the region, including the release from illegal detention of citizens Menzarari S., Dudnic V., and others, removing barriers to free movement and expression in the eastern regions of the country, and the excessive politicizing by Tiraspol of commercial transactions conducted by companies and provisions of criminal legislation related to the criminalization of separatism.
