Over 138 million lei provided in 2025 as social benefits to citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in the Transnistrian region

In 2025, citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in the Transnistrian region benefited from social payments totaling 138.53 million lei, disbursed from the state social insurance budget. The total amount of payments increased by approximately 40 million lei (+40.7%) compared to 2024, when their value stood at 98.45 million lei.

The number of beneficiaries recorded a significant increase of approximately 213.6%. Thus, in 2025, 10,134 individuals received social payments, compared to 3,231 individuals in 2024.

The main categories of benefits granted in 2025 included:

• 4,624 monthly childcare allowances (4,149 for children up to the age of 2, and 475 for children up to the age of 3);

• 1,891 one-off childbirth allowances;

• 1,169 old-age pensions;

• 1,155 temporary disability benefits;

• 514 monthly state allowances for war veterans (in accordance with Law No. 317/2024);

• 185 maternity benefits, among others.

The most significant increases in social benefits were reported in the field of family and child protection. The number of one-off childbirth allowances rose from 284 in 2024 to 1,891 in 2025, while childcare allowances for children up to the age of 2 increased from 615 to 4,149 beneficiaries.

The full observance of social commitments toward all citizens of the Republic of Moldova, regardless of their place of residence or domicile, represents a strategic and ongoing priority for national authorities. The state guarantees every citizen the inalienable right to social protection, ensuring unrestricted and equitable access to essential public services.
