Over 48 million lei have been allocated to the education sector in the past 6 years through funding for the country's reintegration activities

Over the past six years, the Government of the Republic of Moldova, through the country's reintegration programs, has allocated over 48 million lei to support Romanian-language educational institutions in the Transnistrian region and those located within the Security Zone, ensuring their proper functioning and equitable access to quality education.

Thus, during the period 2020–2025, approximately 34.9 million lei have been allocated to educational institutions in the Security Zone (lyceums, gymnasiums, kindergartens), while 12.7 million lei have been granted to Romanian-language schools in the Transnistrian region.

The trend chart of these allocations shows a significant increase in support in 2022, when the maximum threshold of over 11.47 million lei was reached, highlighting a heightened prioritization of the educational sector in a regional context marked by multiple challenges.

Moreover, the year 2025 records the highest allocation of financial resources for Romanian-language schools on the left bank of the Nistru River and in the municipality of Bender – 4.8 million lei, which is more than double the support provided to these schools in previous years. This trend clearly indicates a strengthening of the state’s efforts to support these institutions operating under particularly difficult conditions.

The funding has targeted infrastructure improvements, logistical support for the institutions, support for teaching staff, facilitation of extracurricular activities, and the strengthening of a safe and inclusive educational environment.

The Bureau for Reintegration Policies reiterates the firm commitment of the authorities in Chișinău to support education as a pillar of the country’s peaceful reintegration and will continue to invest in the future of the children of the Republic of Moldova.
